72 And immediately the rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” And he broke down and wept.[1] (Mr 14:30; Mr 14:68; Ac 3:13)

72 Immediately the cock crowed the second time.[1] Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: ‘Before the cock crows twice[2] you will disown me three times.’ And he broke down and wept.

72 Right away the cockerel crowed the second time. Then Peter remembered what Jesus had spoken to him. ‘The cockerel will crow twice,’ he had said. ‘Before it does, you will say three times that you don’t know me.’ Peter broke down and cried.

72 And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.
