27 And there followed him a great multitude of the people and of women who were mourning and lamenting for him. (Mt 11:17; Lu 8:52) 

New International Version

27 A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him. 

New International Reader’s Version

27 A large number of people followed Jesus. Some were women whose hearts were filled with sorrow. They cried loudly because of him.
