2 And they began to accuse him, saying, ‘We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Messiah, a king.’

2 They began to bring charges against Jesus. They said, ‘We have found this man misleading our people. He is against paying taxes to Caesar. And he claims to be Messiah, a king.’

King James Version

2 And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.
