9 And he began to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard and let it out to tenants and went into another country for a long while. (Ps 80:8; So 8:11; Isa 5:1; Mt 21:28; Mt 21:33; Mt 25:14; Mr 12:1; Mr 13:34)

9 He went on to tell the people this parable: ‘A man planted a vineyard, rented it to some farmers and went away for a long time.

9 Jesus went on to tell the people a story. ‘A man planted a vineyard,’ he said. ‘He rented it out to some farmers. Then he went away for a long time.
