17 But he looked directly at them and said, “What then is this that is written: “‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone’?[1] (Ps 118:22; Mr 10:21; Ac 4:11; 1Pe 2:7) 

New International Version

17 Jesus looked directly at them and asked, ‘Then what is the meaning of that which is written: ‘ “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone”? (Ps 118:22) 

New International Reader’s Version

17 Jesus looked right at them and said, ‘Here is something I want you to explain the meaning of. It is written, ‘ “The stone the builders didn’t accept has become the most important stone of all.” (Ps 118:22)

17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
