34 And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed (Isa 8:14; Mt 21:44; Joh 9:39; Ac 28:22; 1Co 1:23; 2Co 2:16; 1Pe 2:8)

34 Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: ‘This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against,

34 Then Simeon blessed them. He said to Mary, Jesus’ mother, ‘This child is going to cause many people in Israel to fall and to rise. God has sent him. But many will speak against him.

34 And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;
