80 And the child grew and became strong in spirit, and he was in the wilderness until the day of his public appearance to Israel. (Mt 3:1; Mt 11:7; Lu 2:40) 

New International Version

80 And the child grew and became strong in spirit[1]; and he lived in the wilderness until he appeared publicly to Israel. 

New International Reader’s Version

80 The child grew up, and his spirit became strong. He lived in the desert until he appeared openly to Israel. 

King James Version

80 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.
