English Standard Version

32 And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace. 

New International Version

32 If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. 

New International Reader’s Version

32 And suppose he decides he can’t win. Then he will send some men to ask how peace can be made. He will do this while the other king is still far away. 

King James Version

32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
