6 And he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. (Isa 5:2; Mt 21:19; Mr 11:13) 

New International Version

6 Then he told this parable: ‘A man had a fig-tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any. 

New International Reader’s Version

6 Then Jesus told a story. ‘A man had a fig tree,’ he said. ‘It was growing in his vineyard. When he went to look for fruit on it, he didn’t find any. 

King James Version

6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
