1 In the meantime, when so many thousands of the people had gathered together that they were trampling one another, he began to say to his disciples first, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. (Mt 16:6; Mt 16:11; Mt 23:28; Mr 8:15; Mr 12:15; Lu 11:29; 1Co 5:6; Ga 5:9)

1 Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, saying: ‘Be[1] on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

1 During that time a crowd of many thousands had gathered. There were so many people that they were stepping on one another. Jesus spoke first to his disciples. ‘Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees,’ he said. ‘They just pretend to be godly.

King James Version

1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
