Judges 9:56

English Standard Version

56 Thus God returned the evil of Abimelech, which he committed against his father in killing his seventy brothers. (Jud 9:24; Job 31:8; Ps 94:23; Pr 5:22) 

New International Version

56 Thus God repaid the wickedness that Abimelek had done to his father by murdering his seventy brothers. 

New International Reader’s Version

56 That’s how God punished Abimelek for the evil thing he had done to his father. He had murdered his 70 brothers.

56 Thus God rendered the wickedness of Abimelech, which he did unto his father, in slaying his seventy brethren:
