Judges 20:18

English Standard Version

18 The people of Israel arose and went up to Bethel and inquired of God, “Who shall go up first for us to fight against the people of Benjamin?” And the Lord said, “Judah shall go up first.” (Jud 1:1; Jud 20:26; Jud 20:31) 

New International Version

18 The Israelites went up to Bethel[1] and enquired of God. They said, ‘Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Benjaminites?’ The Lord replied, ‘Judah shall go first.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

18 The Israelites went up to Bethel. There they asked God, ‘Who should go up first and fight against the people of Benjamin?’ The LORD answered, ‘The tribe of Judah will go first.’ 

King James Version

18 And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall go up first.
