English Standard Version

16 So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord, and he became impatient over the misery of Israel. (Jud 2:18; Isa 63:9) 

New International Version

16 Then they got rid of the foreign gods among them and served the Lord. And he could bear Israel’s misery no longer. 

New International Reader’s Version

16 Then they got rid of the false gods that were among them. They served the LORD. And he couldn’t stand to see Israel suffer anymore. 

King James Version

16 And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
