16 And the descendants of the Kenite, Moses’ father-in-law, went up with the people of Judah from the city of palms into the wilderness of Judah, which lies in the Negeb near Arad, and they went and settled with the people. (Nu 10:29; Nu 21:1; De 34:3; Jud 4:11; Jud 4:17; 1Sa 15:6)

16 The descendants of Moses’ father-in-law, the Kenite, went up from the City of Palms[1] with the people of Judah to live among the inhabitants of the Desert of Judah in the Negev near Arad.

New International Reader’s Version

16 Moses’ father-in-law was a Kenite. His family went up from Jericho. Jericho was also known as the City of Palm Trees. His family went up with the people of Judah to the Desert of Judah. They went there to live among its people. Those people were living in the Negev Desert near Arad.

King James Version

16 And the children of the Kenite, Moses'father in law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lieth in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.
