16 These are grumblers, malcontents, following their own sinful desires; they are loud-mouthed boasters, showing favoritism to gain advantage. (Le 19:15; De 10:17; 2Pe 2:10; 2Pe 2:18) 

New International Version

16 These people are grumblers and fault-finders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage. 

New International Reader’s Version

16 These people complain and find fault with others. They follow their own evil desires. They boast about themselves. They praise others to get what they want. 

King James Version

16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
