Joshua 8:15

English Standard Version

15 And Joshua and all Israel pretended to be beaten before them and fled in the direction of the wilderness. (Jud 20:36) 

New International Version

15 Joshua and all Israel let themselves be driven back before them, and they fled towards the wilderness. 

New International Reader’s Version

15 Joshua and all his men let the men of Ai drive them back. The Israelites ran away towards the desert. 

King James Version

15 And Joshua and all Israel made as if they were beaten before them, and fled by the way of the wilderness.
