English Standard Version

10 Then the men were exceedingly afraid and said to him, “What is this that you have done!” For the men knew that he was fleeing from the presence of the Lord, because he had told them. (Jon 1:3) 

New International Version

10 This terrified them and they asked, ‘What have you done?’ (They knew he was running away from the Lord, because he had already told them so.) 

New International Reader’s Version

10 They found out he was running away from the LORD. That’s because he had told them. Then they became terrified. So they asked him, ‘How could you do a thing like that?’ 

King James Version

10 Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said unto him, Why hast thou done this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them.
