12 From then on Pilate sought to release him, but the Jews cried out, “If you release this man, you are not Caesar’s friend. Everyone who makes himself a king opposes Caesar.” (Lu 23:2; Ac 3:13)

New International Version

12 From then on, Pilate tried to set Jesus free, but the Jewish leaders kept shouting, ‘If you let this man go, you are no friend of Caesar. Anyone who claims to be a king opposes Caesar.’

New International Reader’s Version

12 From then on, Pilate tried to set Jesus free. But the Jewish leaders kept shouting, ‘If you let this man go, you are not Caesar’s friend! Anyone who claims to be a king is against Caesar!’

12 And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.
