39 But you have a custom that I should release one man for you at the Passover. So do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” (Mt 27:15; Mt 27:20; Mr 15:6; Lu 23:18)

39 But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release “the king of the Jews”?’

39 But you have a practice at Passover time. At that time, you ask me to set one prisoner free for you. Do you want me to set “the king of the Jews” free?’
