31 The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. (Joe 2:10; Mal 4:5; Re 6:12) 

New International Version

31 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. 

New International Reader’s Version

31 The sun will become dark. The moon will turn red like blood. It will happen before the great and terrible day of the LORD comes. 

King James Version

31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
