Jeremiah 5:14

English Standard Version

14 Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of hosts: “Because you have spoken this word, behold, I am making my words in your mouth a fire, and this people wood, and the fire shall consume them. (Jer 1:9; Ob 1:18; Zec 12:6; Re 11:5) 

New International Version

14 Therefore this is what the Lord God Almighty says: ‘Because the people have spoken these words, I will make my words in your mouth a fire and these people the wood it consumes. 

New International Reader’s Version

14 The LORD God rules over all. He says to me, ‘The people have spoken these words. So my words will be like fire in your mouth. I will make the people like wood. And the fire will burn them up.’ 

King James Version

14 Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.
