17 Grieve for him, all you who are around him, and all who know his name; say, ‘How the mighty scepter is broken, the glorious staff.’ (Isa 9:4; Isa 14:5; Isa 15:4; Isa 16:7) 

New International Version

17 Mourn for her, all who live around her, all who know her fame; say, “How broken is the mighty sceptre, how broken the glorious staff!” 

New International Reader’s Version

17 All you who live around it, mourn for its people. Be sad, you who know how famous Moab is. Say, “Its powerful ruler’s sceptre is broken! His glorious sceptre is smashed.” 

King James Version

17 All ye that are about him, bemoan him; and all ye that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod!
