Jeremiah 38:7

7 When Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, a eunuch who was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah into the cistern—the king was sitting in the Benjamin Gate— (Isa 56:3; Jer 29:2; Jer 37:13; Jer 39:16; Ac 8:27)

New International Version

7 But Ebed-Melek, a Cushite,[1] an official[2] in the royal palace, heard that they had put Jeremiah into the cistern. While the king was sitting in the Benjamin Gate,

New International Reader’s Version

7 Ebed-Melek was an official in the royal palace. He was from the land of Cush. He heard that Jeremiah had been put into the well. The king was sitting by the Benjamin Gate at that time.

7 Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king' house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin;
