Jeremiah 38:12

English Standard Version

12 Then Ebed-melech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, “Put the rags and clothes between your armpits and the ropes.” Jeremiah did so. (Jer 38:7; Jer 38:11) 

New International Version

12 Ebed-Melek the Cushite said to Jeremiah, ‘Put these old rags and worn-out clothes under your arms to pad the ropes.’ Jeremiah did so, 

New International Reader’s Version

12 Ebed-Melek the Cushite told Jeremiah what to do. Ebed-Melek said, ‘Put these old rags and worn-out clothes under your arms. They’ll pad the ropes.’ So Jeremiah did. 

King James Version

12 And Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.
