Jeremiah 35:11

English Standard Version

11 But when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against the land, we said, ‘Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans and the army of the Syrians.’ So we are living in Jerusalem.” (2Ki 24:1; 2Ki 24:2; Jer 35:1; Jer 35:7; Jer 46:2)

New International Version

11 But when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon invaded this land, we said, “Come, we must go to Jerusalem to escape the Babylonian[1] and Aramean armies.” So we have remained in Jerusalem.’

New International Reader’s Version

11 But Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, marched into this land. Then we said, “Come. We must go to Jerusalem. There we can escape the armies of Babylon and Aram.” So we have remained in Jerusalem.’

King James Version

11 But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.
