24 “But from our youth the shameful thing has devoured all for which our fathers labored, their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.

24 From our youth shameful gods have consumed the fruits of our ancestors’ labour – their flocks and herds, their sons and daughters.

24 From our earliest years shameful gods have harmed us. They have eaten up everything our people of long ago worked for. They have eaten up our flocks and herds. They’ve destroyed our sons and daughters.
