Jeremiah 29:28

28 For he has sent to us in Babylon, saying, “Your exile will be long; build houses and live in them, and plant gardens and eat their produce.”’” (Jer 29:5) 

New International Version

28 He has sent this message to us in Babylon: it will be a long time. Therefore build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce.” ’ 

New International Reader’s Version

28 He has sent a message to us in Babylon. It says, “You will be there a long time. So build houses and make your homes there. Plant gardens and eat what they produce.” ’ ” ’ 

King James Version

28 For therefore he sent unto us in Babylon, saying, This captivity is long: build ye houses, and dwell in them ; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
