4 Because I know that you are obstinate, and your neck is an iron sinew and your forehead brass, (Ex 32:9) 

New International Version

4 For I knew how stubborn you were; your neck muscles were iron, your forehead was bronze.

4 I knew how stubborn you were. Your neck muscles were as unbending as iron. Your forehead was as hard as bronze.
