Isaiah 41:2

English Standard Version

2 Who stirred up one from the east whom victory meets at every step?[1] He gives up nations before him, so that he tramples kings underfoot; he makes them like dust with his sword, like driven stubble with his bow. (Jud 4:10; 2Ch 36:23; Isa 40:24; Isa 45:1; Isa 46:11)

New International Version

2 ‘Who has stirred up one from the east, calling him in righteousness to his service[1]? He hands nations over to him and subdues kings before him. He turns them to dust with his sword, to wind-blown chaff with his bow.

New International Reader’s Version

2 ‘Who has stirred up a king from the east? Who has helped him win his battles? I hand nations over to him. I bring kings under his control. He turns them into dust with his sword. With his bow he turns them into straw blowing in the wind.

King James Version

2 Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow.
