3 A voice cries:[1] “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. (Ps 68:4; Isa 57:14; Mal 3:1; Mt 3:3; Mr 1:3; Lu 3:4; Joh 1:23) 

New International Version

3 A voice of one calling: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord[1]; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.[2] 

New International Reader’s Version

3 A messenger is calling out, ‘In the desert prepare the way for the LORD. Make a straight road through it for our God. 

King James Version

3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
