Isaiah 34:8

English Standard Version

8 For the Lord has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion. (Ps 137:7; Isa 61:2; Isa 63:4) 

New International Version

8 For the Lord has a day of vengeance, a year of retribution, to uphold Zion’s cause. 

New International Reader’s Version

8 That’s because the LORD has set aside a day to pay Edom back. He has set aside a year to pay them back. He will pay them back for what they did to Zion. 

King James Version

8 For it is the day of the LORD' vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.
