English Standard Version

4 Be ashamed, O Sidon, for the sea has spoken, the stronghold of the sea, saying: “I have neither labored nor given birth, I have neither reared young men nor brought up young women.” (Isa 23:2) 

New International Version

4 Be ashamed, Sidon, and you fortress of the sea, for the sea has spoken: ‘I have neither been in labour nor given birth; I have neither reared sons nor brought up daughters.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

4 Sidon, be ashamed. Mighty Tyre out in the sea, be ashamed. The sea has spoken. It has said, ‘It’s as if I had never felt labour pains or had children. It’s as if I had never brought up sons or daughters. It’s as if the city of Tyre had never existed.’ 

King James Version

4 Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins.
