Hebrews 12:8

English Standard Version

8 If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. (1Pe 5:9) 

New International Version

8 If you are not disciplined – and everyone undergoes discipline – then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. 

New International Reader’s Version

8 God trains all his children. But what if he doesn’t train you? Then you are not really his children. You are not God’s true sons and daughters at all.
