Genesis 37:35

English Standard Version

35 All his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted and said, “No, I shall go down to Sheol to my son, mourning.” Thus his father wept for him. (Ge 42:38; Ge 44:29; Ge 44:31; 2Sa 12:17)

New International Version

35 All his sons and daughters came to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted. “No,” he said, “I will continue to mourn until I join my son in the grave.” So his father wept for him.

35 All of Jacob's other sons and daughters came to comfort him. But they weren't able to. He said, “I'll be full of sorrow when I go down into the grave to be with my son.” So Joseph's father sobbed over him.

King James Version

35 And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down into the grave unto my son mourning. Thus his father wept for him.
