8 thinking, “If Esau comes to the one camp and attacks it, then the camp that is left will escape.” 

New International Version

8 He thought, ‘If Esau comes and attacks one group,[1] the group[2] that is left may escape.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

8 He thought, ‘Esau might come and attack one group. If he does, the group that’s left can escape.’ 

King James Version

8 And said, If Esau come to the one company, and smite it, then the other company which is left shall escape.
