Genesis 32:28

English Standard Version

28 Then he said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel,[1] for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.” (Ge 33:4; Ge 35:10; 2Ki 17:34; Ho 12:3) 

New International Version

28 Then the man said, ‘Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,[1] because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

28 Then the man said, ‘Your name will not be Jacob anymore. Instead, it will be Israel. You have wrestled with God and with people. And you have won.’ 

King James Version

28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
