20 And Jacob tricked[1] Laban the Aramean, by not telling him that he intended to flee. 

New International Version

20 Moreover, Jacob deceived Laban the Aramean by not telling him he was running away.

20 And that’s not all. Jacob tricked Laban, the Aramean. He didn’t tell him he was running away. 

King James Version

20 And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.
