3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” (Ge 2:17) 

New International Version

3 but God did say, “You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.” ’ 

New International Reader’s Version

3 But God did say, “You must not eat the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden. Do not even touch it. If you do, you will die.” ’ 

King James Version

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
