Genesis 26:7

7 When the men of the place asked him about his wife, he said, “She is my sister,” for he feared to say, “My wife,” thinking, “lest the men of the place should kill me because of Rebekah,” because she was attractive in appearance. (Ge 12:13; Ge 20:2; Ge 20:13; Ge 24:16; Pr 29:25)

New International Version

7 When the men of that place asked him about his wife, he said, ‘She is my sister,’ because he was afraid to say, ‘She is my wife.’ He thought, ‘The men of this place might kill me on account of Rebekah, because she is beautiful.’

7 The men of that place asked him about his wife. He said, ‘She’s my sister.’ He was afraid to say, ‘She’s my wife.’ He thought, ‘The men of this place might kill me because of Rebekah. She’s a beautiful woman.’

King James Version

7 And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he , the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.
