English Standard Version

16 These are the sons of Ishmael and these are their names, by their villages and by their encampments, twelve princes according to their tribes. (Ge 17:20) 

New International Version

16 These were the sons of Ishmael, and these are the names of the twelve tribal rulers according to their settlements and camps. 

New International Reader’s Version

16 All of them were Ishmael’s sons. They were rulers of 12 tribes. They all lived in their own settlements and camps. 

King James Version

16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.
