31 Therefore that place was called Beersheba,[1] because there both of them swore an oath. (Ge 26:33) 

New International Version

31 So that place was called Beersheba,[1] because the two men swore an oath there. 

New International Reader’s Version

31 So that place was named Beersheba. That’s because there the two men came to an agreement. 

King James Version

31 Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they sware both of them.
