Genesis 20:16

English Standard Version

16 To Sarah he said, “Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. It is a sign of your innocence in the eyes of all[1] who are with you, and before everyone you are vindicated.” (Ge 20:5; Ge 24:65)

New International Version

16 To Sarah he said, ‘I am giving your brother a thousand shekels[1] of silver. This is to cover the offence against you before all who are with you; you are completely vindicated.’

New International Reader’s Version

16 He said to Sarah, ‘I’m giving your brother 12 kilograms of silver. This will show everyone with you that I am sorry for what I did to you. You haven’t done anything wrong.’

King James Version

16 And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with thee, and with all other : thus she was reproved.
