English Standard Version

29 Again he spoke to him and said, “Suppose forty are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of forty I will not do it.” 

New International Version

29 Once again he spoke to him, ‘What if only forty are found there?’ He said, ‘For the sake of forty, I will not do it.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

29 Once again Abraham spoke to him. He asked, ‘What if only 40 are found there?’ He said, ‘If there are 40, I will not do it.’ 

King James Version

29 And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty' sake.
