6 And God said, “Let there be an expanse[1] in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” (Job 37:18; Ps 136:5; Jer 10:12; Jer 51:15) 

New International Version

6 And God said, ‘Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

6 God said, ‘Let there be a huge space between the waters. Let it separate water from water.’ 

King James Version

6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
