Galatians 4:9

English Standard Version

9 But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more? (Ro 8:3; 1Co 8:3; Ga 3:3; Heb 7:18)

New International Version

9 But now that you know God – or rather are known by God – how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces[1]? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?

New International Reader’s Version

9 But now you know God. Even better, God knows you. So why are you turning back to those weak and worthless powers? Do you want to be slaves to them all over again?

King James Version

9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
