Ezra 9:8

English Standard Version

8 But now for a brief moment favor has been shown by the Lord our God, to leave us a remnant and to give us a secure hold[1] within his holy place, that our God may brighten our eyes and grant us a little reviving in our slavery. (Ezr 9:13; Ezr 9:15; Ps 13:3; Isa 22:23)

New International Version

8 ‘But now, for a brief moment, the Lord our God has been gracious in leaving us a remnant and giving us a firm place[1] in his sanctuary, and so our God gives light to our eyes and a little relief in our bondage.

New International Reader’s Version

8 ‘But you are the LORD our God. Now you have shown us your kindness for a short time. That’s because you have allowed a few of us to remain here. Your temple has given us new hope. So you have made things easier for us. You have given us a little rest from our slavery.

King James Version

8 And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.
