18 “And I said to their children in the wilderness, ‘Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor keep their rules, nor defile yourselves with their idols. (Jos 24:14; Eze 2:3; Eze 20:7; Eze 20:21; 1Pe 1:18) 

New International Version

18 I said to their children in the wilderness, ‘Do not follow the statutes of your parents or keep their laws or defile yourselves with their idols. 

New International Reader’s Version

18 I spoke to their children there. I said, “Do not follow the rules your parents gave you. Do not obey their laws. Do not make yourselves ‘unclean’ by worshipping their gods.
