English Standard Version

14 that the kingdom might be humble and not lift itself up, and keep his covenant that it might stand. 

New International Version

14 so that the kingdom would be brought low, unable to rise again, surviving only by keeping his treaty. 

New International Reader’s Version

14 He did it to bring down their kingdom. It would not rise again. In fact, it would be able to last only by keeping his treaty. 

King James Version

14 That the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping of his covenant it might stand.
