12 And he made a rim around it a handbreadth[1] wide, and made a molding of gold around the rim. 

New International Version

12 They also made around it a rim a handbreadth[1] wide and put a gold moulding on the rim. 

New International Reader’s Version

12 They also made a rim around it 8 centimetres wide. They put a strip of gold around the rim. 

King James Version

12 Also he made thereunto a border of an handbreadth round about; and made a crown of gold for the border thereof round about.
