Exodus 21:8

English Standard Version

8 If she does not please her master, who has designated her[1] for himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has broken faith with her.

New International Version

8 If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself,[1] he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her.

New International Reader’s Version

8 But what if the master who has chosen her does not like her? Then he must let the man buy her back. He has no right to sell her to strangers. He has broken his promise to her.

King James Version

8 If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
